If you are just trying out surfing for the first time, Waikiki Beach in Hawaii is the best place where you can learn the needed basic skills. It is a popular spot for beginners since the rolling surf is quite gentle with waves that are under two feet in height during Hawaii’s winter season, and around three feet during the summer months.

You can see surfers everywhere along the beach, but the two most famous spots where most of them congregate are Queen’s and Canoes. Both of these places can be found at the western end of Kuhio Beach Park. Meanwhile, the eastern part of Waikiki features “the Slippery Wall”, a cement pier where most surfers attempt the quite difficult feat of surfing right up to the wall. All in all, though, Waikiki has the most reliable surfing conditions in the Hawaiian islands.
