Tahiti’s Papara Beach features consistent surf due to its reef break and exposed beach. The best time for surfing is during the winter when offshore winds come in from the north. The beach tends to have distant groundswells with the south providing the best swell angle. It is rarely crowded so surfers can enjoy a lot of space and freedom in their movements.

If you are looking for something more challenging, you can try the large and dangerous breaks of Teahupoo on the southern coast. In the north coast, Point Venus and Mataval Point are favourite surfing spots as well. Other places that should be checked out are Moorea, Haapiti, Huahine, and Fare Town.
