Bodyboarding is a variant of surfing where the surfer rides a wave using a bodyboard, which is shorter and wider than a regular surfboard. The board is made out of a pliable foam core and, in surfing jargon, is called a boogie board or a sponge. Compared to regular surfing, bodyboarding is much easier to learn. The surfer rides on the board in a prone position or a half-standing stance, with one knee in contact with the board.

Bodyboarding
This variation of surfing combines speed, style, performance, and power. Once you have attained the necessary skills, you can proceed to trying out different tricks or manoeuvres. Like other forms of surfing, get the proper training and equipment before going bodyboarding. Some of the basic pieces of gear that you will need are a bodyboard, wetsuit, and fins. Most bodyboarders also wear leashes that are attached to their boards.
